Well the first race of the ARC Pro Tour is over after a spectacular event at Daytona! Just to let everyone know this is David writing the recap not TJ for this race, so im going to try to be unbiased for the recap.
The event started off very nicely as the race went green for the first 44 laps. The high lane seemed to be just as good as the low lane, with both of the switching off as the preferred line in the open part of the race. That included greenflag pitstops around lap 25 which split the main pack up between two different smaller packs. The yellow came out on lap 44 when 2 or 3 cars got together going through the tri-oval. The race restarted around lap 47 and with that you could feel the intensity picking up. Battles for the lead became a lot more common place after Logan Sheets dominated a large part of the first half. Christopher Shella took the lead for a wile around lap 55. On lap 51 the top to spots changed place with David and Connor taking over the top two spots. Around lap 64 green flag pitstops started with practically everyone but the top 3 cars along with 2 or 3 lapped cars stuck in the lead pack pitted. 4 laps later on lap 68 The top three leaders came to pit road. David Brownell won the race off of pit road however the main pack was coming quickly and the 3 who had just pit were still getting up to speed. However that is when a yellow flew which kept David and Connor in the top two spots. The race then saw intense 3 and 4 wide racing for over three laps when on lap 75 the ''Big One'' broke out. It was one of the biggest incidents in ARC racing in quite some time, with 10 cars involved, those involved in the big one included: Ryan Wells, Joe Pisciotta, Michael Hungerford, Greg Ellis, Barry Hines, Christopher Shella, Ty McWhirter, Drew Carroll, Brendan Burcroff, and Ryan Lowe. That setup a Green White Checkered, which when it went green, the yellow quickly flew again ending the event with a wrecking involving Joe Pisciotta, Barry Hines, and Michael Hungerford. David Brownell ended up getting the win, Breaking his ARC Losing streak dating back to March 12 2013 when he won at NHMS in the truck series. Patrick Crabtree, Connor Cross, Blade Whitt, and Allen Boes rounded out the top 5.
With so much excitement floating around in the league I cant with for the 6th Annual Brickyard 125 This Friday night for the truck series, and of course the Kobalt 107 @ Lasvegas on Saturday night for the 2nd race of the pro tour.
'Murican Motorsports leads the team standings along with Chevy leading the Manufactor standings over Ford 10 - 5.
Also be sure to check ethier the Front page or the record book page shortly for a list and possibly a video of the biggest ARC wrecks of all time based on cars involved and see were the one we had last week at Daytona in the 1st Annual Daytona 200 ranks up!
See you guys at Indy and Vegas!
