As the checkered flag flew over tonight's race at Dover, we saw cars limping back to the line struggling to pick up fuel. Christopher Shella was able to keep just enough fuel in his car to both pass TJ Thompson to take the lead back with 20 to go and make it to the finish with a two second lead. TJ spent the last 20 laps saving gas to finish second, Brandon Hastings was able to pick up third position, Brendan Burcroff drove his car home on fumes placing fourth, and Carl Gill was able to grab a Top 5 in his first start with ARC.
The race saw only a single caution when Trevor Perry spun in turn 4 on lap 11. The race then went 85 laps green to the end. That run saw Brendan Burcroff restart with the lead, but quickly fell to fourth as the DRC Racing crew took control. Chris Shella and TJ Thompson lead the way for the entire final run, as teammate Brandon Hastings sat securely third. With about 35 laps to go, Thompson was able to catch and pass Chris Shella, but his lead was short lived as he had to start saving fuel with 20 to go. Chris retook the lead and controlled the pace from there.
Also notable in the race tonight were the ARC newcomers Carl Gill, John Shields, and Sean McFadden who all took home Top 10's tonight. Christopher King was also looking promising, but dropped out of the race on lap 13. Keith Rauh struggled some this week, but we'll be looking forward to him coming back with a vengeance. Congratulations to all of our first-timers and we look forward to seeing you all next week!
